Version 2.9 updates

Please refer to this page frequently as this is the official location for updates to the Blue Ribbon Fair Management System. Updates are usually posted four or five times a year. We are constantly added new features and capabilities to our software system, along with refining the existing features. Usually incremental updates are posted every 4-6 weeks during the fair season. Checking this page regularly assures you that you receive the latest features for the Fair Management System.

If you wish to receive automatic notification of an incremental update, please supply your email address and fair name to our contact form or use the contact information at the bottom of the page. We will add it to your fair's customer record so that you are automatically notified when a update is released.

Important note: If you receive an error message such as Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site, or when you click on the download link a page of garbage appears, you will need to do the following to download the files. First, right-click on the file link so that the little context menu appears. Then left click on the item Save Target As (or Save Link As for Netscape). The file save box will appear and the download will proceed.

Before installing any update to the Blue Ribbon Fair Management program, close down all programs that are currently running on your computer.  This also includes any programs, such as virus scans, that you may have running in the background.  Programs that are open at the time an update is installed may interfere with the proper installation of an update.  If you are running the software on a network, make sure the software is closed on ALL computers.

To install the update, please follow these steps:

1.  Click on Update Fair Management 2.90.0407 to 2.90.0414.exe and Save it to your desktop.

2.  Double click on the Update Fair Management 2.90.0407 to 2.90.0414.exe icon saved on your desktop, the self-extracting file will open.

3.  Click on Ok to start the installation.

4.  There will be 2 updated program files installed.

5.  You can verify the update was properly installed by starting Windows Fair Management, and clicking on Help-About. You will see the file name winfair.exe with a scroll bar to the right of it. Click on the scroll bar until you see the file named expert.dll. The date displayed to the right of expert.dll will be April 14, 2008.

If you are running the software on a network, you MUST install the update on all the networked computers.
