Software updates

Please refer to this page frequently, as this is the official location for software updates to the Folio Box Office Management System.  We are constantly adding new features and capabilities to our software system, along with refining the existing features.  Checking this page regularly assures you that you receive the latest features for the Folio Box Office Management System.

There are currently three versions of the Folio Box Office Management System in production:

Version 1.6 is still in use by just a few venues.  If you have version 1.6 and have an existing Folio support agreement, you are eligible to upgrade to version 3.0.  Feel free to send an email to request your upgrade to version 3.0.  If you are looking for an incremental software upgrade for version 1.6, please send us an email.

Version 1.7 is also still in use at some venues.  The only difference between version 1.6 and version 1.7 is the fact the version 1.7 adds support and integration for the eFolio Online Ticketing application.   If you have version 1.7 and have an existing Folio support agreement, you are eligible to upgrade to version 3.0.  Feel free to send an email to request your upgrade to version 3.0.  If you are looking for an incremental software upgrade for version 1.7, please send us an email.

Version 3.0 has been released to the general public!  The primary changes in version 3.0 include updates for 64 Bit Operating Systems and Windows 7 compatibility.  Version 3.0 has also been certified by Microsoft!

Only “Compatible with Windows® 7” software and devices have passed Microsoft-designed tests for compatibility and reliability on PCs running the Windows 7 operating system. “Compatible with Windows 7” products install without worry and run reliably with Windows 7.

If you wish to receive an automatic notification of an incremental update, please supply your email address and venue name by submitting our contact form .  We will then update your venue's records, so that you are automatically notified when a software update is released.

Before installing any software update to the Folio Box Office Management system, close down all programs that are currently running on your computer. This also includes any programs, such as virus scanners, etc, that you may have running in the background. Programs that are open at the time of a software update, may interfere with the proper installation of a software update. If you are running the software on a network, make sure the Folio Box Office Management software is closed on ALL computers before installing.

Important Notes: 

Installing the incremental update over any other versions than the 3.xx.xx.xxxx program will make your system unusable. If you have any questions, please contact our Help Desk before proceeding with this update.

To install the update, please follow these steps:

1.  Click on  Folio Box Office Incremental Update (x86) 3.00.09.1211 to 3.02.12.0919.exe and Save it to your desktop.

2.  Double click on the Folio Box Office Incremental Update (x86) 3.00.09.1211 to 3.02.12.0919.exe icon saved on your desktop, the self-extracting file will open.

3.  Click on Ok to start the installation.

4.  There will be several updated program files installed.

5.  You can verify the software update was properly installed by starting Folio Box Office Management, and clicking on Help-About. You will see the file name treport2.dll with a scroll bar to the right of it. The date displayed to the right of treport2.dll will be September 19, 2012.

If you are running the software on a network, you MUST install the software update on all the networked computers.
